often calling home frustrated with their university experience?
Do they feel lost in the crowd or confused about their academic path? Do you just sense that they may need
to reach out to someone but are not sure who can help?
College can throw many curve balls and we understand that parents want to be the

own.

upon when they encounter bumps along their college path.

Coaching values each adult student's right of confidentiality.
Establishing trust between an advisor and a student is crucial to the success
of the advising relationship. Therefore,
OTCC does not share information revealed by students to their parents and will only
share information with a third party that the student deems permissible in order
to fully assist the student with his or her needs.
It is the OTCC company policy to ensure strict confidentiality except when
a legal obligation to release information about a student occurs or when an advisor
believes that the student is at serious risk of harming one’s self or someone else,
when an advisor has reason to believe that abuse or neglect of a child or dependent
adult may be occurring, or when a court of law compels a release of information. Otherwise, information can only be released
to the parents or another third party if the student signs a form which authorizes
the release and specifies what information is to be released.
It is important to note that OTCC advisors are not mental
health counselors nor medical personnel, if a student is in mental or physical distress,
they will be put in touch with a licensed professional or other appropriate services.
